3. Acceptance of Consent Agenda
Description:
As a good practice, the board should accept the consent agenda for the evening's meeting which includes the minutes of the July 11 meeting.

Description:
The 2022-23 Elementary and Jr/Sr Handbooks and the Athletic Code are being presented for approval. The documents are attached for review.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the superintendent, the elementary principal, the jr/sr high school principal, the athletic director, and the policy committee to approve the 2022-23 Elementary and Jr/Sr Handbooks and the Athletic Code as presented. 5. Elementary Playground Project Approval
Description:
In January 2021, the BOE finalized plans for Phase 3 of the bond construction project. That approval included a grassy area of the playground, but it was decided to hold off on the rest of the playground updates until a later time. At this time, the BOE is being asked to approve an outdoor learning area that includes a concrete pad for teaching, learning, and other activities. The elementary PAC has done the work to get this project prepared, and an estimate from Kelley Excavating is attached. Phase 3 bond funds will cover the cost of the project.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the superintendent and the building/site committee to approve the proposed work by Kelley Excavating for an outdoor learning area on the elementary playground. 6. Staffing Approval - Chad Spence
Description:
Earlier this year, CTE approved a new Public Safety class, and a teaching position was posted. Chad Spence, who served as the jail teacher last year, is being presented for approval for this position. His resume and data sheet are attached.
RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent and the jr/sr high school principal recommend approving Chad Spence as the Public Safety teacher. 8. Staffing Approval - Amanda Shirey
Description:
Ceairra Green's resignation created an opening for a new transportation supervisor. Amanda Shirey, a district bus driver for three years, is presented for approval as the new supervisor. There were six applicants and three interviews for this position. Amanda's contract is attached.
RECOMMENDATION: The superintendent recommends approving Amanda Shirey as transportation supervisor.
