3. Acceptance of Consent Agenda
Description:
As a good practice, the board should accept the consent agenda for the evening's meeting which includes minutes of the February 14 special meeting (open and closed) and the January financial reports.
RECOMMENDATION: The interim superintendent recommends that the consent agenda be reviewed and accepted. 7. 2021-22 COVID Learning Goals
Description:
In October, the Board approved the 2021-22 COVID Learning Goals as required by the Michigan Department of Education. The mid-year growth report is attached.

8. Resignation - Kyle Bjorem
Description:
Kyle Bjorem has submitted a letter of resignation effective June 10, 2022. Kyle has been an ELA teacher in the jr/sr high school for four years.
RECOMMENDATION: The interim superintendent recommends accepting Kyle Bjorem's resignation effective June 10, 2022. 9. Southwest 10 Conference Application - Lawrence
Description:
Lawrence Public Schools has asked to be admitted to the Southwest 10 Conference. Athletic directors and principals from member schools have voted to accept them. Per the conference constitution, the next step is board approval. If approved, the Lawrence Tigers would join beginning with the 2022-23 season. Attached is a letter from the conference, and a SW10 sport/distance comparison.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the interim superintendent and the athletic director to accept Lawrence as a member of the Southwest 10 Athletic Conference beginning with the 2022-23 season. 10. New Coaching Staff - Dan Truckenmiller
Description:
Earlier this year, Jeff Spencer resigned as varsity baseball coach. The position was posted and Dan Truckenmiller applied. His datasheet and resume are attached.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the interim superintendent, the athletic committee, the athletic director, and the interim principal to approve the hire of Dan Truckenmiller as varsity baseball coach. This is contingent on the receipt of a successful criminal background check. Description:
BOE approval is necessary for field trips that are planned to keep students out of the district overnight or longer. The 4th-grade and FFA are seeking approval for overnight events as outlined in the attached activity applications.
