1.1. Call meeting to order
Rationale:
Executive/Closed Session may be necessary during this meeting for either: 1) Protection of the public interest; or, 2) The prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and if the individual has not requested a public meeting. Recognition of Visitors: The Board of Education encourages citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to address the Board at its regular meetings. Such opportunities will ordinarily be limited to the, “Communications from the Public” section of the meeting. When there are several persons who wish to address the Board at a meeting, the Board President shall have the authority to limit the amount of time provided to each speaker. In compliance with Nebraska statute 84-1412 the Open Meetings Act is posted within the meeting room. |

Rationale:
Each month, we recognize the great things that are happening with Freeman students and staff.
The Freeman softball team made their 2nd appearance in three years in the state tournament and won their first-ever game at state. They went 1-2 at state and finished the year with a 25-7 record. Members of the team were: Seniors: Kyla Davison, Cassidy Denney, Dakota Haner, Kloey Johnson, Cassie Klein Juniors: Hailey Parde Sophomores: Kaylie Beu, Courtney Holliday, Sydney Lenners, Leyton Lueders, Nevaeh Niles, Brooklyn Veerhusen Freshmen: Nicole Davison, Bekah Delhay, Hunter Haner, Taelyn Lang, Savannah Mahler Student Managers: Aniston Bartunek, Kylie Schlake Coaches: Gene Busboom, Autumn Koester, Ashley Schlake A special thanks to Coach Busboom, who will be stepping away from the head coaching position. Thank you for all of your help and dedication to Freeman Softball! The Freeman Cross Country team had one individual female and the boys team qualified for state. Trinity Buss qualified and medaled, earning a 15th-place medal. Jobjosiah Muthiani medaled, finishing in 5th place. The varsity boys team of Jobjosiah Muthiani, Brady Troxel, Wesley Havelka, Emmanuel Muthiani, and Cole Young finished with 36 team points, earning a state runner-up trophy. Members of the cross-country team were: Seniors: Trent Allen, Wesley Havelka, Cole Young Juniors: Solomon Delhay, Jobjosiah Muthiani, Braedon Otto, Brady Troxel, Adi Lempka, Reagan Miller, Jordyn Pella Freshmen: Emmanuel Muthiani, Ethan Ruse, Luke VanCott, Kinley Bolyard, Trinity Buss Coaches: Jim McLaughlin, Stacey Troxel Mr. Veerhusen and Mrs. Kroeker spend countless hours organizing and managing athletics and activities at Freeman Public Schools. The Fall season is, by far, the busiest with four high school and three JH sports going on at once. We want to take a moment to thank them for all their hard work and their dedication to Freeman athletics. |
