5. Presentation and Discussion: Student Opportunities at Columbia-Brazoria ISD (CBISD)

• • Free dual credit courses available to Damon ISD students
  • Opportunity to earn an associate degree at no cost prior to high school graduation
  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offering industry certifications

6. Discussion: Implementation of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between Damon ISD and Columbia-Brazoria ISD

• • Transition from current tuition agreement with Needville ISD due to increased costs
  • Transportation options to CBISD for Damon ISD students (provided by CBISD or Damon ISD)
  • Twin Lakes transportation within Damon ISD

7. Calendar Planning: 2025–2026 School Year Transition to a Four-Day Instructional Week
 

8. Informational Session: Clarifying Misinformation and Providing Facts

• • Academic performance and intervention supports
  • Staff and student recruitment strategies
  • Student privacy under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • HIPAA and its limited applicability in school settings

• • Members of the public may address the Board regarding any item on the agenda. For this Town Hall format Special Called meeting, the Board shall allow each member of the public who desires to address the board regarding an item on the agenda of the board to address the board regarding the item at the meeting before or during the board's consideration of the item.
  • Comments will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker.
  • The Board will not take formal action but may consider comments and deliberations for future agenda items to be considered and acted upon in a future meeting.
