V. DISCUSS THE VISION FOR WORKING TOWARD SYSTEM-WIDE PRIORITY #2: EVALUATE SALARY/BENEFITS STRATEGIES
Description:
Attached please find a document that expands on the initial "Vision" for salary and benefits that was presented to the committee and Board this fall. We will walk the committee through this document, step by step, at our meeting on Monday. The purpose for the expanded version of this document is to:
1. Articulate why salary and benefits is a district priority. 2. Illustrate our history for how we have addressed salary and benefits since 2008. 3. Share key parameters that have emerged from discussion with Board Members. 4. Provide an outline of work to establish new processes for each employee group. 5. Pose the question about how to rectify strategic planning and budget decisions. I believe we we need multiple HR Committee Meetings to work through this document and the concepts it presents, and we are not looking for any action on this item at this time. Our meeting will be focused on joint planning, discussion, and feedback on the concepts presented in the attached memo. We also want your input on how and when to engage the full board in the discussion on budget and strategic planning. We look forward to the discussion and your input on Monday. Also, note, there is a lot in this memo. Please do not feel like you need to digest it all prior to Monday. We will take time to walk through each section at the meeting, and we will schedule additional meeting/s to further refine this body of work.
