6.A. Enrollment Reports
 

6.A.1. Credit Students. The Registrar’s Office provides the attached enrollment report for the Spring 2025 semester.
 

6.A.2. Dual Credit and Concurrent Enrollment Report. The Registrar’s Office provides the attached dual credit and concurrent enrollment report for the Spring 2025 semester. 
 

6.B. Report of Taxes Collected.  Please find attached the report on taxes collected for January 2025.
 

6.C. Report of Unfilled Positions.  The Vice President, Human Resources, provides the attached report on vacant positions that are currently being advertised.   
 

6.D. Resignations and Retirements.  Pursuant to Board Policy DMD (Local), the President has accepted the written notice of resignation and retirement from the following contract-level employees:

6.E. Fund Development Report.  The Sr. Vice President, Student Success and Advancement, provides the attached report on fund development activities of the Brazosport College Foundation for February and March 2025.
 

6.F. Brazosport College Foundation Annual Report 2023-2024. The Sr. Vice President, Student Success & Advancement, provides the Brazosport College Foundation Annual Report for 2023-2024.
 

6.G. Budget Preparation Calendar for FY 2026. The Vice President, Financial Services and CFO, has attached the budget development and planning calendar for FY 2026.
 

6.H. Adjunct Credit Teachers, Spring 2025.  The Vice President, Academic Affairs & Institutional Effectiveness, recommends approval of adjunct teachers in the attached memo for Spring 2025 semester credit courses. Each of the teachers is qualified in the area of assignment.

The President, under authority granted by the Board, has approved this recommendation.
 

6.I. Counselor Administrator Dinner. The annual Counselor/Administrator Dinner is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Corporate Learning Center. The dinner and program provide a forum for conveying appreciation for the work of ISD administrators and counselors who collaboratively work with Brazosport College to support college readiness and student success. Members of the Board of Regents are invited to attend. 
 

6.J. 2025 Career Fair. Brazosport College will host its 31st annual Career Fair on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The event serves approximately 1,700 juniors from partner ISDs, as well as private, online, and homeschool students. Students will participate in two educational sessions on specific career areas, one skill-building session, and a vendor fair where students can engage with over 50 community partners. This year’s event will feature interactive questions for students to reflect on their learning and future career paths. This tradition is a cooperative effort between Brazosport College, the ISDs, business, industry, and civic organizations. We are grateful to all who participate in making this event successful each year.
 

6.K. 2024-25 Employee Recognition Dinner.  The 2024 Employee Recognition Dinner will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at the Dow Academic Center and will honor the FY24-25 service awards recipients.  Board of Regents and their guests are invited to attend the annual event.
 

6.L. Gator Grab Auction/Gator Day/Strive 2 Drive Car Drawing. The annual Gator Grab Auction is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the MEGlobal Student Pavilion at Brazosport College. The event is to raise funds for scholarships and is held in conjunction with Gator Day, which is sponsored by Student Engagement. The drawing for the Strive2Drive car will be held at 1:00 p.m. as a part of these events. Members of the Board of Regents are invited to attend the events. Lunch is provided.
 

6.M. BC Foundation Gator Classic. The Brazosport College Foundation Gator Classic, presented by Freeport LNG, will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Wilderness Golf Course. The Gator Classic is co-chaired by Jay Gibson and Courtney Birdsong. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., helicopter ball drop at 10:45 a.m., and an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament will begin in a standard scramble format with 144 players. Along the course, players will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of skills challenge holes and activities, enjoy delicious cuisine prepared and served by area corporations, and interact with Brazosport College students. The tournament will conclude with the Blue Jacket Awards Presentation and live musical entertainment.
 

6.N. Distinguished Student Ceremony. Brazosport College annually recognizes up to 20 students who, through a college-wide nomination process, are selected as distinguished students. The 2024-2025 Distinguished Student Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in The Clarion at Brazosport College.
 

6.O. 2025 Commencement. Commencement exercises for the 2024-2025 academic year are scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the Dow Academic Center at Brazosport College. The two ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The college will host a lunch at Gator Hall for faculty, staff, commencement guests, and board members in between the two ceremonies.
 

6.P. Community Education Graduation.  Graduation ceremonies for students completing Adult Education and Literacy and Allied Health Workforce Programs will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in The Clarion at Brazosport College.
 

6.Q. 2025 CCATT Annual Conference. The 2025 Community College Association of Texas Trustees (CCATT) Annual Conference has been set for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September 11-13, 2025, in West Lake Hills, Texas, at the Hotel Viata. Members of the Board of Regents are encouraged to attend with Dr. Vincent Solis, President. Registration for the conference is to be made through Annaliza Gideon, Chief of Staff and Board Relations.
 

6.R. ACCT Annual Leadership Congress. The 2025 ACCT Annual Leadership Congress is scheduled for October 22-25, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theme for the conference is Reimaging Community College: Innovation for a Changing World. Members of the Board of Regents are encouraged to attend the conference with Dr. Vincent Solis, President. Registration for the conference is to be made through Annaliza Gideon, Chief of Staff and Board Relations. 
 

6.S. Board Policy Review.  At the Board Workshop on February 13-14, 2009, Regents initiated a systematic review of Board policy.  It was suggested that a number of Board policies be included for review as part of each monthly agenda.  Questions regarding the referenced policy may be addressed to the President prior to the meeting for clarification and/or discussion.

8.A. Proposed Amended Board Policy – AD (LOCAL) Educational Role, Mission, Purpose and Responsibilities.  The Vice President, Human Resources, requests the review of the amended Policy AD (LOCAL).  This policy redefines the college’s mission, vision and values for Vision 2030.  Attached is a copy of the proposed amended policy with existing policy language appearing as regular text, deleted language appearing in red font with a line through it, and new language in blue.

This proposed policy is presented for second reading and adoption.
 

9. New Business
 

9.A. Board Member Communication.  Accept the resignation of Steven Solis, Brazosport College Board of Regents, Position 3, and announce the vacancy. 
 

9.B. Closed Session

The President requests a Closed Session as provided in the Texas Government Code, Section 551.074.   

For the purpose of considering the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee or to hear complaints or charges against a public officer or employee.

9.C. Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Vision 2030 Goals.  At the annual Board Workshop, the Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Vision 2030 Goals were reviewed, and no edits were made.  The Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Vision 2030 Goals are attached.  

It would be appropriate for the Board to approve the Brazosport College Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Vision 2030 Goals.
 

9.D. CBIT Grant Vendor Approval.  The Vice President, Industry & Community Resources, provides the attached communication notifying the President that a preferred vendor, the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), is anticipated to have services purchased for an amount greater than $100,000. The Center for Business/Industry Training is utilizing TEEX as a third-party contractor to provide training to INEOS under a Texas Workforce Commission Skills Development Grant.

It would be appropriate for the Board to approve purchases with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) above $100,000 in FY25.
 

9.E. Staff Contracts.  Staff Employees listed below are recommended for contracts for Academic Year 2024-2025 as follows:
 

9.E.1. The President recommends these individuals for one-year contracts from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. 

It would be appropriate for the Board to approve the contracts for the period identified.
 

9.E.2. The President recommends these individuals for two-year contracts from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.

It would be appropriate for the Board to approve the contracts for the period identified.
 

9.F. Proposed Board Resolution endorsing the Texas Association of Community College’s support of House Bill 8.  The State of Texas, through House Bill 8 during the 88th Legislature, has demonstrated its commitment to student success and workforce development through the implementation of the outcomes-based funding model.

The President recommends the Board of Regents of Brazosport College officially declare its support for this Resolution to be included in the permanent minutes of the Board.
 

9.G. Financial Report.  Please find attached the financial statements for January 2025.

It would be appropriate for the Board to accept the financial statements.
