1. Christmas Caroling on Sunday
Description:
Ms. Ploof sent the below email to middle- and high school staff. I thought you may be interested in some holiday music! Please consider joining RHS senior high choir members, and some junior high members, at Hinkemeyer Tree Farm this Sunday. We will be caroling from 1-3! It is part of a fundraiser with the tree farm. |
2. Budget for MS-HS Dean of Students
Description:
At the December board meeting I will make the recommendation to create a MS-HS dean of students position. Both Joel and Phil have been hinting/asking me for a few years. With Michelle Hauber accepting the business manager position it makes sense to create the MS-HS dean of students position now rather than beginning next school year. For example, the responsibilities of district assessment coordinator would be transferred from the district office secretary position to the MS-HS dean of students. I had planned to request the added support for Joel and Phil next school year. It is because of the shuffling of positions and savings in personnel costs that I believe now is the time to add the MS-HS dean of students position in January 2017. Please call or stop in to ask me any questions you have regarding this recommendation. Thank you. Here are the details: Business Manager Mary Plante's total package cost (salary & benefits) = $92,029 Savings with Michelle Hauber = $21,019 MS-HS Dean Cost = $44,034 - $48,800 (BA Step 0) Potential revenue to offset = $5,504 - $6,100 (based on 25% of time spent with SPED) Basically, you are looking at a net cost increase in the range of $17,511 - $21,681. I have to give a range because there are lots of variables including health insurance, lane/step placement, and SPED percentage and reimbursement rate. |
