5. Ground Breaking Ceremony
Description:
I emailed the following message below to members at ARY and Winkelman. Please help us get ready for the ground breaking ceremony on Saturday, August 1st at 9:30 AM. I need to work on a 20-30 minute agenda with various speakers. Winkelman will be providing shovels and hard hats. We need a project sign and some renderings from ARY. You’ll want to have ARY and Winkelman on the project sign that can remain outside for several months. The playground company will have 3D renderings available for us too. We’re open to anyone’s thoughts and ideas to make this special for our community. Some thoughts are cake and juice provided by the school district. Also, little ones in hard hats with shovels, preferably those who will be our first students in the new preschool and kindergarten classrooms. |
6. Approval of Weekly Building Project Quotes and Proposals
Description:
I attached two proposals that came across my desk this week. They are both deferred maintenance items being completed by us the school district. Henagin Masonry & Concrete will be repairing our elementary sidewalks for $5,200 We had $8,000 budgeted. Rasinski Total Door Service will replace the window spandrels at the elementary for $19,750. We’re going with the more expensive replacement of smoked glass windows instead of plywood. They’ll look similar to the smoked glass on the south side of the elementary school. The budget was $27,625. We’ll use the approximately $11,000 in savings to help offset some of the costs for the new Gifted, Talented, and Enrichment (GTE) office/small group classroom. Rasinski wrote on their cover fax letter “Sorry this took so long. It has been nuts.” We all agree construction is picking up and busy for most everyone. I’m glad to see local area pricing is favorable to the school district. |
