1. Mailings to Bowlus Residents
Description:
Michelle Carlson brought it to my attention that she and a few other Bowlus residents did not receive the brochure for the building project. I also heard this from an elderly couple who attended the Community Meeting in Bowlus on December 3rd. This morning we discovered the extent to how many Bowlus residents did not receive the mailing. The ones who did receive the brochure are the parents of school age children and those with a P.O. Box. All others in Bowlus did not receive it unfortunately. With some further conversation and checking we also learned these same individuals have not received our latest district newsletters (e.g., back-to-school newsletter). We're not sure why or when the Bowlus mailing list changed. The editor for the newsletter went from Cindy to Joel to Katie back to Joel. Michelle Hauber has now taken it over with the soon to be released winter newsletter. Hopefully this creates stability again like when Cindy did a good job for us. We are going to mail the brochure out to all registered voters minus the parents and those with a PO Box. We want to reach those we missed, but also not send a second brochure to those who already received one. |
2. Final Community Meeting
Description:
Our final community meeting is scheduled next Wednesday at 7:30 PM. We will be at Royalton Elementary School. Paul Youngquist will be at this final meeting. |
3. Estimated Market Values by Classification
Description:
Please see attached the taxable market value for each property class in Royalton School District. I thought you may or may not have interest in knowing this information. |
4. MSBA Phase I and II Training
Description:
This evening and tomorrow Randy, Dale and I are attending MSBAs Phase I and II training in St. Cloud. I'm looking forward to a refresher course. MSABA does a great job for board members and superintendents! |
5. Reorganizational Meeting
Description:
Please find below Sandy Gundlach's (MSBA) response about the Board's reorganizational meeting in January. I have this as a discussion item on next week's board agenda. I believe we were thinking the first Monday in January. My Answer: See M. S. 123B.14 § Subdivision 1. Officer selection. “On the first Monday of January of each year, or as soon thereafter as practicable, the board must meet and organize by selecting a chair, clerk, and a treasurer, who shall hold their offices for one year and until their successors are selected and qualify. The persons who perform the duties of the clerk and treasurer need not be members of the board and the board by resolution may combine the duties of the offices of clerk and treasurer in a single person in the Office of Business Affairs. They may appoint a superintendent who shall be ex officio a member of the board, but not entitled to vote therein.” |
6. Christmas Treats for Employees
Description:
Please remember to bring three dozen treats to the board meeting on Monday night. We will arrange and distribute them to our employees on Tuesday morning. Thank you! |
7. Time Sheets for Board Members
Description:
Those of you who turn in your time sheets monthly we'd appreciate it reflecting only one month. For example: include all November meetings, but not all November meetings and 1 or 2 October meetings. This might create a problem for us when we start calculating hours for Affordable Care Act (ACA). Kelsie was told us we’d have to be tracking board members as well for ACA hours at the ACA meeting yesterday at CMERDC. |
8. Weekly Bills
Description:
Please find attached the weekly bills for your approval. |
