Description:
(The Board of Education may use this opportunity to pull items out of the consent agenda at regular board meetings to be voted on separately, or may add items for discussion purposes at regular and Committee of the Whole meetings.)

IV. Public Hearing to Consider Waiver Application
Description:
(A school district is required to apply for a waiver every 5 years considering parent/teacher conferences. Part of the process is to hold a public hearing to give the public an opportunity to hear a description of the waiver proposal and address the Board with any questions they may have.)

V. Approve Authorization for Submission of Waiver Application for Parent/Teacher Conferences
Description:
(The Board will be asked to approve submission of a waiver application for parent/teacher conferences after holding a public hearing. It is required to submit this waiver for legislative approval every 5 years.)

VI. Presentations/Recognitions
Description:
(The Board of Education periodically hears presentations from students, District 33 departments and programs, and outside groups in order to keep the Board informed of District operations and opportunities.)
- School Board Member's Day Recognition (This is an annual opportunity to thank some of our nation's most dedicated volunteers. School Board members are elected to a truly challenging role, they receive no compensation, and they work to improve learning for all students while balancing limited resources. District 33 enjoys a wonderful Board of Education filled with committed, interested, engaged, and knowledgeable members. THANK YOU DISTRICT 33 BOARD OF EDUCATION!)

VII. Public Comment
Description:
(Public comments (limited to 3 minutes each) are welcome at this Board of Education meeting. In order to conduct productive meetings, there will be no dialogue with the public about topics during this meeting. The Board may make a brief response to a public comment, or will provide for follow-up with individuals or groups at a later date, if the Board determines that issues require additional research. For certain issues that require additional understanding the Board may also schedule a special meeting where public dialogue can occur. Thank you for your interest in district issues and for your understanding of meeting protocol.)

IX. Consent Agenda *
Description:
(The Board reviews minutes from past meetings to make sure they reflect that specific meeting. Each month the Board reviews expenditures, payroll, and the financial statements of the District. The Board may accept resignations, employ certified staff, approve leave requests, approve classified staff changes, adopt policies and job descriptions, approve disposal of closed session recordings, and approve other related staffing and employment requests and expenditures.)

Description:

Description:
(The Board will be asked to approve contracts with supplemental educational service providers. These providers will offer qualifying students after school tutoring or other learning opportunities. Offering supplemental educational service through outside providers is a requirement of No Child Left Behind.)
