12. Consider Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between the I Love U Guys Foundation and Christoval Independent School District.
Presenter:
Dr. Walker
Description:
"I Love U Guys" Foundation works in close collaboration with the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response (ALERRT) Training Center and it's sister organization, the Texas School Safety Center. The "I Love U Guys" Foundation developed the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a classroom response to any critical incident. In 2012 the Foundation introduced the Standard Reunification Method (SRM), a practice that helps schools reunite students and parents with greater accountability and less uncertainty. CISD wishes to formally adopt the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) Texas Edition and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM). The Foundation is committed to providing programs at no cost. Yet, program development, enhancement and support are cost centers for the Foundation. One way it funds those costs is through private grants and funding. An MOU is a strong demonstration of program validity and assists us with these types of funding requests. In addition, CISD will be officially using a program recognized nationwide and by the State of Texas. The SRP & SRM meet NIMS (National Incident Management System) requirements and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) recommendations, thereby, making the District more appealing to outside funding sources for grant awards.
