VI.C. Blended Learning Plan Update
Description:
We are excited to return to our original Blended Learning Plan and have students on campus two days per week. The ability to increase student attendance comes as a direct result of Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools released by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) yesterday. Generally speaking, previous guidelines have been modified to lessen the barriers for in-person learning. A few of the most significant changes include:
Additionally, indicators of community transmission continue to decline and have helped to inform our decision-making for increased student attendance. We look forward to these changes being implemented effective March 29, 2021. We will continue to look for additional ways to increase in-person learning opportunities, within the constraints of the updated requirements. |
VI.D. Assessment Update
Description:
We are still awaiting final word from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) regarding spring assessments, but we do know a few things for certain. The following assessments will remain required:
The PSAT for grades 9 and 10 is no longer required and will not take place. ISBE will be seeking maximum flexibility for accountability as it relates to assessment. That will be very important as we anticipate participation rates will be much lower than normal, given our blended learning model. I will follow up with additional assessment and accountability information as soon as it is received. |
VI.E. Extension of COVID Related Positions **
Description:
Last school year, the Board of Education approved several personnel additions to comply with ISBE and IDPH guidelines for the 2020/21 school year. Based on the knowledge that we have at this time, it is anticipated we may need these positions for the 2021/22 school year as well. Recommend approval of the following positions for the 2021/22 school year:
