Description:

6. Public Participation
Description:
In accordance with board policy BED LOCAL, the Banquete ISD Board of Trustees welcomes comments from citizens on any agenda items or non-agenda items at any regular scheduled board meeting. In the event of a special board meeting/board workshop, public comments will be limited to agenda items only. Those wishing to address the school board must provide their name for the record and observe a three-minute time limit. During this time, the Board of Trustees may not respond to the citizens' concerns as per the Texas Open Meetings Act.

7. Closed Session - The Board of Trustees will enter into closed session as authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.The Board may deliberate or receive information on matters as permitted under the following provisions:

7.A. § 551.074 – Personnel Matters
Description:
To deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee, including but not limited to personnel recommendations from the Superintendent
|

7.B. § 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney
Description:
To consult with the District’s legal counsel regarding pending or contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, or a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct conflicts with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
This consultation may be conducted via telephone or video conference in accordance with § 551.129 of the Texas Government Code. |

Description:
To deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices; or a security audit.

7.D. § 551.072 – Real Property
Description:
To deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property if deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the District in negotiations with a third party.

Description:
To deliberate a matter regarding a public school student if personally identifiable information about the student will necessarily be revealed by the deliberation.
