11.1. Memorandum of Understanding Retirement Incentive - Wabasso Education Association

Be it Resolved that the ISD 640 Board of Education approve the Memorandum of Understanding Between ISD 640 and Wabasso Education Association as follows:
Whereas the District and WEA desire to provide an extra incentive to Severance pay.
WEA Contract 25-26 and 26-27 school years.
The contract addresses severance pay, Section 8. The district recommends the following changes and additions to this section:
THIS WILL APPLY TO STAFF MEMBERS WHO RETIRE
- Section 8, Subd 2. Remove maximum of 2 teachers, change to 5 teachers;
- Section 8, Subd 5. Delete all: 1,2,3 and add Application is 2/24/26 to 4/17/26;
- Section 8, Sub 6, #2: Remove 18 years to 15 years;
- Section 8, Sub 6, #3. Add the following, Extra $ $10,000 will be added to severance pay, SECTION 8 for those who RETIRE. Extra, $2,000 will be added to severance if a retirement letter is submitted to the District office by 3:30pm on 3/20/26.
All other items in Section 8 will still be in effect and must be met.
This MOU does not constitute Past Practice.
If an employee meets the requirements for severance pay without retiring, then the current contract language will be followed in the 25/26 and 26/27 Contract.
This MOU expires June 30, 2026.
The parties hereto have executed this Memorandum of Understanding.
