Description:
The Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame annually recognizes outstanding member coaches. On Saturday, September 23rd at a ceremony in St. Paul, Coach Swanberg will be inducted in the Minnesota High School Hockey Coaches Hall of Fame. It’s an incredible honor. Congratulations, Mr. Swanberg!

8.1. Safe Routes to School Sidewalk & Easement Project

Description:
The city of Le Sueur is working on replacing sidewalks as part of the Safe Routes to School grant. This includes sidewalks around Park Elementary. They are looking for support and an easement to complete this work. This item was initially before the LS-H School Board on November 7, 2016. At that time the item was tabled pending more information about possible assessments to the District related to this project. Mr. Wilbright will return to update the Board regarding the City determination not to assess the District for this project and therefore is requesting support for the project to proceed. Administration recommends approval.

Description:
Due to time constraints, Chair Faches is looking for someone to replace her on the custodian negotiations team. For review, current negotiations teams are as follows:

9.2. Consideration to purchase six camera systems for school transportation

Description:
As part of the new transportation contract, LS-H Schools and the Le Sueur-Henderson Bus Company (new provider) agree to work together for installation of busses with security camera systems. The Le Sueur-Henderson Bus Company brought nine buses to LS-H with camera systems already installed. With the purchase of these 6 new camera systems, all busses and vans would be complete with security camera systems. Moving forward, the Le Sueur-Henderson Bus Company agrees to install and maintain all cameras. Administration recommends approval.

9.3. Consideration to add a 4th section of Kindergarten at Park Elementary.

Description:
Administration is recommending the addition of a section of Kindergarten at Park Elementary. Predicting kindergarten enrollment can be a challenge as some students are in multiple preschool programs and have options for this initial enrollment into our school system. That said, our initial enrollment projections for kindergarten in the spring predicted approximately 65 total students. In planning for 3 sections of kindergarten, class sizes were therefore projected around 21 students. Our administrative team began to monitor these numbers more carefully during the summer as we started to enroll additional students in this grade which have now surpassed original margins such that another section is recommended.
