9.1. Review applications for Teacher Early Retirement Incentive

Description:
Per Minnesota Statute 122A.48, these teachers are making application to the Le Sueur-Henderson School Board for payment of an early retirement incentive. A school board must approve or deny the application within 30 days after it is received by the board.
Applications have been received by B. Schmidt, R. Kramer-Curtin and S. Maluchnik. |

9.3. Resolution to convert voter approved referendum authority to a Board approved referendum authority.

Description:
Following the 2013 legislative session, school boards were given the authority to convert up to
$300/Adjusted Pupil Unit (APU) of existing authority from voter-approved to board-approved. These changes were first available on the Pay 2014 Levy or Fiscal Year 2015. Since this time, many schools have elected to restructure their voter approved to Board approved. To date, Le Sueur-Henderson Schools have not. This conversion would not increase, decrease or affect the district’s current Levy Authority. It would simply move $300/APU from voter-approved to board-approved and the remaining $190/APU would still have to go out for voter approval. ***Vote taken as roll call***

9.4. Designation of 3 representatives for Professional Development appeals process.

Description:
Per their master agreement, any teacher aggrieved by any decision of the Professional Growth Committee may appeal such decision to a Board of Review by giving notice of intent to do so within fourteen (14) days of the date of the decision of the Professional Growth Committee. The Board of Review shall hear the matter within ten (10) days of receiving such notice of intent. The Board of Review shall be composed of three (3) members designated by the Board of Education and three (3) members designated by the Executive Board of the Exclusive Representative. Should the Board of Review be unable to reach a decision on an appeal, the decision of the Professional Growth Committee shall stand as final. The Superintendent shall act as conveyor for the committee and shall set a meeting time convenient to all members of the committee.
Teacher Maria Hennen has asked for an appeal of a decision by the Professional Growth Committee not to approve credits. The Board must designate 3 members to serve in the appeals process. |

The Annual Retail and Business Expo has been scheduled for Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Valleygreen Square Mall. Le Sueur-Henderson Schools typically has a table at the event staffed by Board members.

10.2. School Board Officer's Training
Description:
Tuesday, February 14 MSBA will be holding an Officer's Training session for School Board members. Training will be from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Deadline to register is Thursday, February 9. Please let Jackie Fahey know if you would like to attend and she will register you.

Description:
We are looking for four board members to hand out diplomas at LS-H Graduation Commencement. Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
