2.3. Committee on American Civics
As members of the Board of Education Committee on American Civics of the Gothenburg School District, we have completed the duties cited in Nebraska State Statue 79-724 as set forth in 79-724 with pride and respect for the nation’s institutions. Board members on the committee on American Civics are Kelly Terrell (chair), Kyle Fornoff, and Ryan Sukraw.

4. Discuss options for ELA materials adoption beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
Rationale:
Board Policy 6004 defines the distinction between curriculum and materials as follows:
The purpose of today’s discussion is to provide an overview of the process used to develop the recommendation and to gather feedback and questions from the Committee on American Civics. If the committee supports the recommendation, the materials review window will open today. Materials will be available for viewing by contacting Mrs. Maggie Tiller prior to the April Board meeting.
