Middle School students selected to the 2016 Michigan All State Band and Orchestra.  Orchestra – Malina Oliver; Orchestra Honorable Mention – Lainy O’Neal  - Band – John Ahlin, Elisabeth Baumann, Eliza Lane, Nina Largey and Aiden Menzies;  Band Honorable Mention – Abbie Draheim, Jack Hanley, Elise Kanefsky and Eliza Lane

II.B. All-State High School Orchestra - Taylor Murray, Anthony Medei, Rishav Choudhury, Imelda Hay;  All-State High School Band - Cade Dembski; All State Jazz Band - Conor McCornack

II.C. Lansing Symphony Orchestra Side-by-Side Concert - Taylor Murray, Jonathan Thaden and Imelda Hay

II.D. Students for Females in STEM at East Lansing High School hosted an Hour of Code event called Coding and Cookies for the second year on December 4.   The students in this club have hosted this event to make a strong statement that Michigan (and East Lansing) is ready to teach our students critical twenty-first-century skills.  This will assure our students are on the forefront of creating the technology of the future - - not just consuming it!  The students and others who made this highly successful event possible are:  Annie Sung, Armandine Uwimana, Aya Mohammed Salih, Bandana Rawal, Betoul Ali, Bruna Ngassa, Devin Pascoe, Katie Knox, Linda Webster, Nasra Mohammed, Sam Liao, Sasha Bacon, Sophie Steiner, Taylor Murray, Teema Mohammad, Samantha White, Shiangyi Lin, Olga Redko, Konrad Rauscher.  Adults Involved:  Allyson Knox, Heather Mueller, Kathy Kowalski

IV. Consent Agenda 
Motion:  The Board of Education approve the consent agenda to include the following items:

IV.A. High School trip to Germany and Switzerland in the summer of 2017, as presented

V. Board Discussion on Potential Bond Proposal

VI. Public Comment:    This is the opportunity to address the Board.  Speakers are to confine their remarks to three minutes.  If a speaker requires more than three minutes, after all other persons who have requested to speak during this part of the meeting have spoken, that speaker will be allowed additional time.  The Superintendent or other district staff may comment to clear up or avoid significant misunderstandings.

Motion:  The Board of Education adopt the resolution as presented reaffirming East Lansing's ongoing commitment to inclusion.
