II.D. Students for Females in STEM at East Lansing High School hosted an Hour of Code event called Coding and Cookies for the second year on December 4. The students in this club have hosted this event to make a strong statement that Michigan (and East Lansing) is ready to teach our students critical twenty-first-century skills. This will assure our students are on the forefront of creating the technology of the future - - not just consuming it! The students and others who made this highly successful event possible are: Annie Sung, Armandine Uwimana, Aya Mohammed Salih, Bandana Rawal, Betoul Ali, Bruna Ngassa, Devin Pascoe, Katie Knox, Linda Webster, Nasra Mohammed, Sam Liao, Sasha Bacon, Sophie Steiner, Taylor Murray, Teema Mohammad, Samantha White, Shiangyi Lin, Olga Redko, Konrad Rauscher. VI. Public Comment: This is the opportunity to address the Board. Speakers are to confine their remarks to three minutes. If a speaker requires more than three minutes, after all other persons who have requested to speak during this part of the meeting have spoken, that speaker will be allowed additional time. The Superintendent or other district staff may comment to clear up or avoid significant misunderstandings.
