7. Appoint Treasurer as MISD Budget Hearing Representative

Description:
This annual hearing takes place at the offices of the MISD. A copy of MISD's Operating Budget is distributed to each Board member in advance of the hearing. Public Act 451, Section 380.624 (2) requires, "not later than June 1 of each year, the (i.e. MISD) board shall submit a budget, for review, to a meeting of one board member named from each constituent district to represent the district."

9. Appoint Community Members to Adult Education Citizens Advisory Council
Presenter:

Description:
The St. Clair Shores Adult & Community Education Citizens’ Advisory Council is comprised of individuals from the city school districts. The purpose of the C.A.C. is to provide the program and its Director with input and direction on program and services. The C.A.C. also reviews and evaluates programs in order to ensure that services are meeting the needs of the community. Each school district is permitted to appoint up to five individuals.

10. Renew Board Membership in the MASB and appoint Board Vice President as Liaison

Description:
The MASB provides training and services to the boards of education and
is a source of other pertinent information that is of interest to board members. Also, the MCSBA plays an important role in disseminating information on legislative issues within Macomb County. |
