Description:  This meeting was noticed by way of publication in the Waterford Post on Thursday,January 15, 2025, was posted at the District Office (Door #7) and at Entrance #19, and was published on the District's website. Minutes from the regular board meeting of November 25, 2024, and from the special meetings of December 2 and December 6 are posted on the District's website.

Description:  An itemized list of bills payable, including vendor names, payment amounts, and descriptions of goods or services rendered.

Description:  Each year, all Wisconsin public school districts are required to inform parents/guardians of the educational options available to students, including: public schools, private choice schools, charter schools, virtual schools, full-time open enrollment, and other options within the school district's boundaries. Attached is a list of the educational options available to students residing in the Waterford Union High School district.

Description:  Due to personal reasons, the employee has requested that her position be reduced from 1.0 FTE to .60 FTE for the remainder of the school year. The reduction in force shall become effective at the start of second semester (January 28, 2025).

Description:  The Student Council Sergeant at Arms will provide an update on the recent activities of various student co-curricular clubs.

Description:  The scope of the referendum is to address essential, immediate building needs to include the following.  

• Needed classroom improvements to engineering, art, CTE, and special education, as well as improved air quality in technical education classrooms (wood, metals, and autos).
• Enhance security measures at building entrances including doors and the loading bay. Replace obsolete fire bell with a new Voice Evacuation Speaker System for intruder alerts and fire safety.
• Replace worn-out ventilation, cooling, electrical, and mechanical systems that have exceeded their useful life.
• Repair leaking roofs, eroding piping, rusting doors, windows and drainage.
• Comply with interior and exterior ADA accessibility and state code requirements.

Upcoming guided building tours are scheduled from 5-6:30 PM on January 30 and February 13, or can be arranged by contacting the District Office.  

Description:  Attached are the resolutions that will be voted on at the WASB State Education Convention 2025 Delegate Assembly scheduled for Wednesday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m.  Board member Purtell will serve as the WUHS District's representative at the WASB Delegate Assembly. After reviewing the list, the Board may wish to discuss the resolutions to provide direction as to the collective opinion of the Board.

Description: 

Board Member Datka has requested a discussion regarding the current policy for adding items to board meeting agendas. The current policy language allows individual board members to include agenda items upon receiving concurrence from the Board President. This agenda item seeks to:

1. Review the existing agenda item addition protocol
2. Discuss potential modifications to the current policy
3. Clarify the process and requirements for board members proposing agenda items

Recommended Action: Board discussion and potential policy refinement to ensure transparent and efficient agenda management.

Description: 

School boards are required to designate the number of regular educational and special education spaces available for the next school year. The number of regular educational spaces is defined by grade. The number of special education spaces is designated by available special education and related services. Space determinations must only be made and approved by the school board at its January board meeting. If the board does not intend to deny applicants due to space, it may make that determination and document it in its January board meeting minutes.
   
Both state and federal laws prohibit discrimination against a pupil based on the pupil’s physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability. The board may not deny open enrollment based on the pupil’s eligibility or need for reasonable accommodation in a Section 504 plan. An application may only be rejected if there is no space in the special education or related services required in the pupil’s IEP or if the special education or related services are not available in the nonresident district.
