F.1. Recommend Approval of Contract Amendment with WANRack for Wide Area Network Services
|
|
F.1.a. District administration recommends approval of an amendment to the contract with WANRack for provision of the District's Wide Area Network (WAN). The current contract established a term of ten years at the pre-discounted rate of $5,040.00 per month. Actual costs would be $1,008.00 per month given the District's eligibility for a reimbursement of 80% through the E-Rate program. However, RFP #536M-24A11 specified that proposals shall be for a term of five years. The amendment complies with this five-year-term requirement. Per WANRack's original proposal, the cost per month for a five-year term would be $5,280.00 pre-discount, or $1,056.00 after the 80% discount is applied. This translates to an actual difference of $48.00 per month. The District is approved for up to $5,960.00 per month through E-Rate, so the minimal increase due to the change from a ten-year term to a five-year term is below the maximum approved cost. The five-year term would begin upon completion of construction and testing of the WAN, anticipated in the spring of 2026. The amendment is attached, as is the original executed contract.
