E.1. Information and Discussion regarding Revision to Policy GCCA Professional Staff Sick Leave
|
E.1.a. District administration presents a revision to Policy GCCA Professional Staff Sick Leave for review and discussion, with no action to be taken at this meeting. The attached memo summarizes the revision, and the accompanying policy draft includes underlined text to indicate additions. The revision would clarify that permanent substitutes are able to carry forward unused accrued sick leave and use accrued sick leave in a manner consistent with other professional staff members.

E.2. Recommend Approval of Position Description for Preschool IEP Coordinator
|
E.2.a. District administration recommends approval to establish a new position for a Preschool Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Coordinator. This position would write and review IEPs for preschool students and would assist with monitoring, evaluating, and providing accommodations for preschool students. The position would begin in the 2024-2025 school year, and grant funding would be utilized to pay for the salary and benefits.

E.3. Recommend Approval of Flowing Wells Title I Parent Involvement Policy
|
E.3.a. District Administration recommends approval to adopt the Flowing Wells Title I Parent Involvement Policy. The District reviews this policy annually with the Flowing Wells Parent Advisory Council (PAC). This year's review occurred on March 7, 2024. Two minor changes were made, both in the opening paragraph: re-wording an awkward grammatical construction; and removing the statement that the schedule of monthly meetings between parents and the superintendent is attached to the policy (the schedule is posted online). Pending Governing Board approval, the final version will be posted on the District website and included in student handbooks and planners for the coming school year.

E.4. Discussion of Transition to Community Eligibility Provision for Universal Free School Meals
|
E.4.a. District administration presents information regarding the upcoming transition to the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), which will provide our students with universal access to free school meals. Although a significant majority of our students already were accessing free or reduced-price meals, the CEP eliminates the challenging and invasive annual task of collecting applications from families and extends universal access to free breakfast and lunch to all students. This information is presented for discussion, with no action to be taken by the Board.
