3. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
The Board welcomes comments and questions from the public. If you wish to address the Board, please fill out a public participation sheet available at the table and give it to the Board Secretary. We ask that you limit your comments to three (3) minutes. If more than one person will be addressing the same topic, we ask that you appoint a spokesperson to speak for the group. Speakers may offer objective criticism of school operations and programs, but the Board will not hear comments regarding individual school personnel. (Policy BDDH: Public Comment at Board Meetings)

4.A. The board would like to thank Oregon State University and Coos County Master Gardners Association for the generous donation of plants to the North Bend "Bridges" Greenhouse.
|
|
4.B. The board would like to thank Jennifer Knight of the Coos Bay Public Library for her thoughtful donation of new books that support girls' healthy physical and mental development, valued at roughly $700. This donation is shared from the grant received from the Boys and Girls Club and is funded as a result of a pharmaceutical settlement awarded by the state Attorney General's Office. Age-appropriate books will be placed at all North Bend Schools.

4.C. The Board would like to thank Gib's RV Superstore of Coos Bay for the thoughtful donation of LifeVac equipment. LifeVac is an anti-choking device that is easily deployed in an emergency situation. We are confident that these lifesaving tools will be a safety measure that we can get behind and easily train our staff to use. Our school nurses have been consulted and are in strong agreement. Gib's RV Superstore has generously provided a LifeVac system to each school building in our district.
