Description:
During the October 2017 Board meeting, the Board discussed setting
goals as a group. With a new
superintendent and a new Board member, the Board agreed that team building is a
priority. After discussion, the
following Board goal ideas were presented for consideration:
The Board agreed to focus on three goals: Group book study beginning in January, scheduling a Board meeting at the Westmoreland facility, and considering an educational equity policy during the Spring. |

7.A. Consent Agenda

Description:
The Lane ESD
Board of Directors has agreed to implement a consent agenda. All items in the consent agenda are adopted
by a single motion unless a member of the Board or the Superintendent requests
that such item be removed from the consent agenda and acted upon separately.
Generally, consent agenda items are matters which members of the Board agree are routine in nature and should be acted upon in one motion to conserve time and to enable the Board to focus on the other matters on the agenda. Back-up materials for consent agenda items are included in the agenda packet as needed. Minutes of this meeting will reflect action on each item. If any board member wishes to withdraw any consent group item, it will be moved to the appropriate section of the agenda. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of Lane ESD adopts the consent group as submitted and listed below. 1. Lane ESD Board Meeting Minutes of February 6, 2018 2. 7.C. Declaration of Classified Employee Appreciation Week, March 5-9, 2018

Classified Employee Appreciation Week is the first full week in March.
For 2018, it is March 5-9. The Board Chair will read the proclamation
aloud.
WHEREAS, the education of youth is essential to the future of our community, state, country and world; and WHEREAS, classified employees are the backbone of our public education system; and WHEREAS, classified employees work directly with students, educators, parents, volunteers, business partners and community members; and WHEREAS, classified employees support the smooth operation of offices, the safety and maintenance of buildings and property, and the safe transportation, healthy nutrition and direct instruction of students; and WHEREAS, our community depends upon and trusts classified employees to serve students; and WHEREAS, classified employees, with their diverse talents and true dedication, nurture students throughout their school years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lane Education Service District Board of Directors proclaims March 5-9, 2018, to be CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lane Education Service District Board of Directors strongly encourages all members of our community to join in this observance, recognizing the dedication and hard work of these individuals. Adopted this 6th day of March, 2018 |
