Board Policy BDDH states: Speakers may provide objective criticism of district operations and programs; however, the Board will not hear personal complaints regarding school personnel or any individual connected with the school system. The Chair will direct legitimate complaints to the appropriate process for Board consideration and resolution.

Members of the public may address the Board for up to three minutes. Signing up for public comment does not guarantee time will be available. Speakers must state their name, district residency, and, if representing an organization, the organization’s name. Groups with a common purpose should designate one spokesperson.

The Board Chair may occasionally respond immediately to questions or comments. In most cases, the Chair will direct the Superintendent or designee to gather information and report back. If a question is not addressed during the meeting, it does not indicate a lack of interest, but a desire to gather information to provide the most helpful response.
