7.B. 606 Textbooks and Instructional Materials
Description:
The policy committee is proposing the following edit to section V.:
A. The school district shall provide a process for members of the school district community to seek reconsideration of the use of select textbooks or instructional materials. B. The Director of Teaching and Learning shall be responsible for the development of guidelines and procedures to identify the steps to be followed to seek reconsideration of textbooks or other instructional materials. C. A member of the community may request the School Board directly to reconsider a textbook or instructional material by providing a petition signed by a number of members of the district equal to or greater than 5% of the number of students enrolled in the district at the time of petition.
