Description:
Attached are Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of June 14, 2022 for review and approval.

2.B. Accounts Payable Special and Regular Run Vouchers
Description:
A complete list of payments contained in Accounts Payable Special Vouchers numbers 9909, 9908, 9907, 9906, 9905, 9904, 9903, 9902, 9901, and Regular Run Voucher Numbers 9900, 8999, and 2300 are attached. Vouchers have been prepared in accordance to state law and copies of the Vouchers are available for review by the public at the Superintendent's office prior to the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Special Run Voucher Numbers 9909, 9908, 9907, 9906, 9905, 9904, 9903, 9902, 9901, and Regular Run Voucher Numbers 9900, 8999 and 2300.

2.C. Personnel Report No. 22-07
Description:
Listed on the Personnel Report No. 22-07 are personnel actions presented for consideration by the Board of Trustees. Salaries for individuals employed will be determined in accordance with salary regulations of the District.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve personnel actions in Personnel Report No. 22-07.

2.D. Budget Voucher Adjustments
Description:
A complete list of budget adjustments made by the Director of Business Services during the recent course of business is provided for review and approval by the Board of Trustees as required by NRS 354.598005.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Budget Voucher Adjustments as submitted.

2.E. Bullying Report Quarter 4 and Annual Summary (Administrative Report)
Description:
Shannon Brown, Executive Director Area 4, has provided the Board with information regarding incidents of bullying for the fourth quarter and a summary for the entire school year.

Description:
Monthly update on enrollment numbers for each school site is provided to the Board.

Description:
Heather Jackson, the representative for DCSD on the NASB Board of Directors, will present details of NASB accomplishments, current issues, and goals.

Brief updates from the Board regarding District activities.

Description:
Each month the Board President will share "good news", which may include recognizing employees, students, and/or groups.

Description:
Director of Facilities, Phil Demus, will provide an update of DCSD's current and future maintenance and construction projects.

9. Superintendent Report SG-G (Administrative Report)
Description:
Superintendent, Keith Lewis, will report to the Board regarding activities of the past month and upcoming District events that may be of interest to them.
Below is a summary of donations received by school sites over the last month. The District wishes to acknowledge and thank the generosity of all donors on behalf of the students we serve. Douglas High School Roger & Leo Ceballos (Cebellos Enterprises)- Donated landscaping rock, including labor and delivery, valued at $1500. Carson Valley Medical Center-Donated $8,195 to the Boys and Girls Basketball Programs to use towards the purchase of a Shooting Machine RICE Hydro, Inc. -Donated $500 to the Boys Soccer Program |
10. Family Life Sex Education Aids Advisory Committee Update of Instructional Materials SG-AS & G (Discussion and For Possible Action)
Description:
Shannon Brown, Executive Director of Educational Services, will present an update of the instructional materials for Family Life Sex Education Aids which align to the 2020 Health Standards for grades 3-5.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the updated Family Life Sex Education Aids instructional materials for grades 3-5.

11. First Reading of Board Policy No. 211 - Human Development Program SG-G (Discussion and For Possible Action)
Description:
Shannon Brown, Executive Director of Education Services, will present proposed changes to Board Policy No. 211 - Human Development Program as first reading.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve changes to Board Policy No. 211 - Human Development Program as a first reading.

12. Administrative Regulation No. 521 - Dress Code and Grooming (Information and Discussion)
Description:
Shannon Brown, Executive Director of Education Services, will provide information for the Board on the input that was solicited on possible changes to Administrative Regulation No. 521 - Student Dress and Grooming, including the results of a survey sent out to staff, families, the community and students.

13. Development of Public Input Process SG-C (Discussion and For Possible Action)
Description:
The Board will discuss the development of a process by which the public could report concerns, ask questions, and/or seek clarification from district staff regarding instruction, curriculum and/or school events.

14. Public Comment (5:30 p.m.)
Description:
Comments from the public are invited at this time on topics not specifically addressed elsewhere in the agenda. A sign-up sheet is provided and individuals who wish to address the Board are asked to indicate their desire to speak and the topic about which they will speak. Individuals wishing to address the Board at this time will be limited to three minutes. The Board is precluded from acting on items raised during Public Comment that are not already on the agenda.

15. Closed Session (Discussion and For Possible Action)
Description:
The Board will recess to closed session in order to discuss matters with its management representatives pursuant to NRS 288.220(4).

16. Prioritizing Agenda-Possible Items for Future Board Meetings (Discussion and For Possible Action)
Description:
The Board will seek requests from its members for items to be placed on future meeting agendas in accordance with its policies. The Board will discuss all agenda items on the list and prioritize those it wishes to come forward at the next Board Meeting.

Description:

18. Adjournment
Description:

The Board of Trustees may combine two or more agenda items for consideration, and may remove an item from the agenda or delay discussion relating to an item on the agenda at any time. Generally speaking, the item will be heard no earlier than the time indicated.
