Description:  Attached are the minutes of the March 5, 2020 Family Life Sex Education/AIDS (FLSEA) Meeting for review and approval.

RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the minutes fo the March 5, 2020 Family Life Sex Education/AIDS Meeting.  

Description:  The State Board of Eudcation adopted the 2020 Nevada Academic Content Health Standards on October 6, 2020.  Attached are the newly adopted standards as well as a comparison between the new and old standards.  

Description:  In the wake of the newly adopted 2020, Health Standards the committee will begin looking at ways to update the information and resources provided through the Family Life Sex Education Program.  Below are two different groups who would like to share infromation regarding programs that align with the new health standards and could possibly be considered for DCSD. 
a.  Carson City Health and Human Services would like to virtually present their evidence-based curriculum called, "Making Proud Choices" and "Promoting Health Among Teens".  Both in-person and virtual curriculum options are available.
b.   Dr. Phil Gerindo would like to present a 9th grade pilot project.
