V. Approval of Consent Agenda
The Consent Agenda is a list of routine non-controversial items, which do not require further discussion and which are approved with one motion and one roll call vote. It is an effective procedure to handle routine matters on the agenda expeditiously. All consent items shall be listed with an asterisk(*) and will be enacted with one motion. However, any member of the Board of Education may request that an item be withdrawn from the Consent Agenda and discussed in its regular order. |

VI. Staff Recognition - Retirees
Description:
Tuesday evening, we will recognize/honor Mr. James Sellers, Mrs. Lynn Krumlinde, and Mrs. Carolyn Knize who will be retiring at the end of June. |

VII. Student Recognition
Description:
In accordance with the Board’s goal to recognize student achievements as a part of each monthly Board meeting, the April KG students of the month will be recognized.

VIII. Invitation to Address the Board of Education
Description:
Per Policy 2:230 Public Comments at Board of Education Meetings and Petitions to the Board At each regular and special open meeting, the members of the public and District employees may comment on or ask questions of the Board, subject to reasonable constraints. The individuals appearing before the Board are expected to follow these guidelines:
Petitions or written correspondence to the Board shall be presented to the Board of Education in the next regular Board packet unless the Superintendent deems the matter to be urgent. |

IX. Board Reports/Discussion Items

IX.A. Joint Annual Conference
Description:
Registration for the 2021 Joint Annual Conference is expected to open on June 8, 2021. The conference is scheduled for November 19-21. The following statement appears on the conference webpage, "IASB is planning for an in-person Conference in 2021 while monitoring Coronavirus/COVID-19 emergency measures and giving due consideration to our member’s health and safety." Please review your calendar and let me know Tuesday evening if you will be attending the conference and if you will be staying in Chicago. This will allow Mrs. Krumlinde to register members as soon as possible. |

IX.B. July Meeting
Description:
Typically, the Board of Education has decided to forego a meeting in July. However, this year with a transition in leadership and the need to discuss plans for opening the 2021-2022 school year, it would be best to have a meeting in July. The proposed date for this meeting is July 20, 2021. We will discuss this further Tuesday evening to ensure we can have a quorum available. |

X. Reports of the Superintendent

X.A. FY21 Budget Amendment
Description:
In April, the Board approved posting the required notice regarding the budget hearing in June and putting an amended budget on review for 30 days. |

X.B. FY22 Health Insurance Rates
Description:
The Lincolnway Insurance Cooperative trustees met and determined that the rates for the 2021-2022 school year will not change. There will be no increase in HMO or PPO insurance rates. I have attached a copy of the letter sent to all members of the Lincolnway Affiliation. |

X.D. State Funding
Description:
To provide the most current information, members will be provided information regarding dollars owed to District 91 from the State as a part of the meeting on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

XI.A. Donation
Description:
48 Goosebumps paperbacks to the LRC for student usage from the Lindstrom Family. We thank the Lindstrom family for thinking of District 91. |

XI.B. ESSA Consolidated District Plan (CDP)
Description:
I have included a copy of the FY22 CDP for approval. This is a consolidated plan for federal grants we apply for each year including Title I, Title II, Title IV, IDEA Part B Flow-Through, IDEA - CEIS, and IDEA Part B Preschool.This plan must be approved by each district’s Board of Education before we can submit our individual federal grants for FY22.

XI.C. Personnel Report

XI.D. Revised Curriculum Rotation Cycle and Estimated Curriculum Cost
Description:
Last year the Board revised the curriculum spending cycle at its April meeting due to the uncertainty of the impact of COVID-19. The updated cycle and spending projects have been included this month for the Board to approve in advance of the leadership transition effective July 1, 2021.

XI.E. IESA Membership Renewal
Description:
The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) has provided D91 student athletes with an opportunity to compete at the state level. It has also established standards for all members of athletic teams to follow throughout their season.
|
|
XI.F. Employment of Assignment Chair
Description:
Seven years ago, the board approved, in the absence of a full-time athletic director, the position of assignment chair to oversee the scheduling of all referees for athletic competitions played at home. Mr. Mondrella was hired to fill this position and has done an excellent job each year.
