January Meeting: We will be posting the January meeting date as January 13 beginning at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be the First Monday in January Organizational Meeting. The legislative session begins on January 14, 2025 and ends on May 19, 2025. The next budget forecast will be out in February. This will be followed by the Governors' budget. Policy and funding topics that will likely be discussed in some capacity and related to schools would be: READ Act, Per Pupil Formula, LTFM, Compensatory Funding, and more. The 2024 MSBA Delegate Assembly will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7. If you would like to preview this year’s resolutions, please access an online version of the 2024 Delegate Assembly Guidebook. I have been working with the Transportation Department on a strategic planning process to improve morale, safety and security, communication, and radio etiquette. These items will help us to develop a plan to improve many aspects of the transportation department and are based on the IROD process with support from "Hardwiring Excellence in Education". I have been selected by the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development as a representative on the Energy Transition Advisory Committee (ETAC) to represent a school district facing revenue loss due to energy transition. The Energy Transition Advisory Committee was established to develop a statewide energy transition plan and to advise the governor, the commissioner, and the legislature on transition issues, established transition programs, economic initiatives, and transition policy. More information can be found on MN Statute 116J.5492. |
