4. K-5 Montessori Chinese Language and Culture in the Schools Presentation
Description:
Background: Nate Wells, RFPME Principal, and Chunyan "Jessie" Jiang, Chinese Instructor, will present a program update regarding the Chinese Language and Culture Program beginning this year at the RFPME. We will also present Ms. Jiang with a certificate of recognition for her work in the district this fall semester.

5. Approve the 2020-21 RF4C Contract
Description:
Background: Nate Wells, RF4C Program Administrator, and Becky McAleavey, RF4C Program Coordinator, will present the RF4C contract for the 2020-21 school year. This appropriate contract will be provided to each of our provider sites upon approval. A separate contract is utilized for the University Preschool. Both contracts were reviewed by our district's legal council prior to the 2019-20 school year and are still in compliance with Wisconsin State State statutes and the Department of Public Instruction.
Recommended Action: Approve the two (2) 2020-21 RF4C Contracts as presented. |
6. Approve the District’s Notice of Educational Options
Description:
Background: Jennifer Peterson, Director of Academic Services, will present the Educational
Options notice specifying the educational opportunities afforded to resident students of the School District of River Falls for the 2020-21 school year. This is an annual notice required to be approved and posted in conjunction with the Open Enrollment window each school year. Recommended Action: Approve the District’s Notice of Educational Options. |
7. Approve the District's Memo to Establish Seats for Open Enrollment
Description:
Background: Jennifer Peterson, Director of Academic Services, will present committee members with the district memo containing administrative recommendations to establish seats available in the School District of River Falls for the 2020-21 school year. By state statute, the Board of Education must approve the number of available seats each January prior to the upcoming Open Enrollment period. The Open Enrollment window for the upcoming school year is from February 3, 2020 - April 30, 2020.
Recommended Action: Approve the memo to establish seats for Open Enrollment. |
8. Approve the Recommendation to Discontinue the CVTC Business Academy Program
Description:
Background: Kit Luedtke, River Falls High School Principal, will present committee members with a current update regarding the CVTC Business Academy and an administrative recommendation to discontinue this program effective with the 2020-21 school year.
Recommended Action: Approve the administrative recommendation to discontinue the CVTC Business Academy program. |
9. Presentation of the RFHS Course Planning Guide and Course Registration Process
Description:
Background: Melisa Hansen, College and Career Coordinator, will present the RFHS Course Planning Guide for the 2020-21 school year as well as updates regarding the upcoming student registration process. Documentation presented will assist students to learn about educational opportunities offered within our District and guide students and their families in their academic and career planning.

10. Discussion regarding alternative educational option for high school students during the 11th grade ACT administration
Description:
Background: Kit Luedtke, River Falls High School Principal, will present possible alternative instructional options for high school students in grades 9, 10, and 12 on March 3, 2020 during the ACT Administration for all 11th grade students. Alternative option is for 9, 10, 12 grade students to engage in a virtual learning day with parent option for students to attend school or complete their virtual learning at home. See attachment.

11. River Falls High School Professional Learning Community (PLC) Updates
Description:
Background: Lisa Goihl, River Falls High School Assistant Principal, will present committee members with an update regarding the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) work at the high school during the first semester of the school year.

12. River Falls High School Graduation Credits and Study Hall Options Update
Description:
Background: Kit Luedtke, River Falls High School Principal, will present committee members with and update regarding recommendations, staff feedback, and alternative options regarding future changes at River Falls High School specific to credits required for graduation and possible study hall options.
