4.A. The April Student Spotlight features the universally designed approach in Jaime Stavros’ class at Park View Elementary School. Stavros worked with the district’s universal design for learning specialist to build reading lessons that are personalized by, and personalized for, the students in her third-grade class. The interdisciplinary lessons increase engagement and ownership of classwork in order to meet the needs of every single student.

4.B. CCSD 89 PE teachers, Nate Arenson, Jacob Boyko, Will Brewer, Mike Casmer, Missy Hanneman, and Shea Moroni were thrilled to assist students with the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge. This is the second year that all four elementary schools participated in the fundraiser that also teaches kids about healthy heart habits.There were 593 students who participated, they raised $39,293.28 for the American Heart Association and saved 786 lives, for a job well done!

4.C. Congratulations to the 7th Grade Girls' basketball team. Kylan Anderson, Isabella Beltran, Isabella Breault, Alaina Burke, Kaitlin Erickson, Emily Everett, Emma Full, Marlena Kendra, Addison Kite, Nina Hendricksen, Savanna Hagedorn, Gianna Langert, and Destiny Sargent-Penna did an amazing job this season. Each of them came to work hard every day and worked incredibly well together. They ended the season winning first place in our conference and end of season tournament championship!
