4.A. Briar Glen Elementary School is presenting the Student Spotlight this month. Briar Glen's Student Spotlight will focus on students in first grade participating in Number Corner. Number Corner features short daily workouts that introduce, reinforce and extend skills and concepts related to the critical areas of study. New pieces are added to the display each day, providing starting points for discussions, problem-solving and short written exercises. 

4.B. Thank you to Park View Elementary School physical education teacher Nate Arenson for his tireless work in promoting student and community health through the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs. For the past four years, Arenson has been partnering with the American Heart Association to get kids moving for heart health while also raising money to fight heart disease. Because Arenson helped bring the program to all four elementary schools, CCSD 89 went from 137 students raising about $5,700 in 2020 to 610 students raising $25,860 in 2021! Arenson was nominated for an American Heart Association national award for his advocacy and work.
