QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based suicide prevention training program designed to help participants recognize warning signs of suicide, respond appropriately, and connect individuals with available support and resources.

The training focuses on three key steps:

• Question: Recognize warning signs and ask directly about suicide.

• Persuade: Encourage individuals at risk to seek help.

• Refer: Connect individuals with appropriate resources and professional support.

The work session will provide Board members and other attendees with an opportunity to participate in QPR training and strengthen their understanding of suicide prevention and early intervention.

1. The Q&A Session will be held during the last 10 minutes of the work session each month.
2. Questions submitted by stakeholders seven (7) or more days before the work session will be included for selection.
   1. Questions are to be submitted to schoolboard@sisd.org or by completing the Google Form using the "Submit Q's to School Board" button on www.sisd.org (the link is also shared at the bottom of this email).
   2. Anonymous questions/comments will not be considered.
   3. Questions may not concern an individual, or any personnel-related or other matter that would normally be discussed in executive session.
3. The Board will respond to submitted questions as time permits within the allotted 10 minutes.
   1. The Board will address/answer questions to the best of their ability.
   2. The Board will follow up regarding questions that they are not able to address.
4. This Q&A Session will be a time for the Board to share responses; it will not be an open forum discussion.
