8.A. Award of Contract: Leveling & Stabilization of Wood Storage Building Project
Description:
Recommendation It is the Administration's recommendation that the School Board approve and authorize the Superintendent to award a contract for the Leveling & Stabilization of Wood Storage Building project to Newlook Construction for a total award amount of $35,695. Pertinent Facts The wood storage building across from the Thorne Bay School has experienced settling and structural instability. We solicited bids for dismantling and rebuilding specific components of the building, reinforcing structural elements, and stabilizing the foundation through a bid notice that was released on January 28, 2025. We received a total of two bids from vendors. After scoring the bids using a rubric, we selected Newlook Construction with a bid of $35,695.

8.B. Award of Contract: USDA Rural Utilities Service - Distance Learning and Telemedicine Project Connect Project
Description:
Recommendation It is the Administration's recommendation that the School Board approve and authorize the Superintendent to award a contract for the USDA Rural Utilities Service - Distance Learning and Telemedicine (RUS-DLT) Project Connect project to Solutionz, Inc. for a total award amount of $293,137, contingent upon the availability of RUS-DLT funding. Pertinent Facts As part of the RUS-DLT Project Connect Grant we received, we solicited bids for video teleconferencing and distance learning equipment through a request for proposal that was released on February 5, 2025. We received a total of three bids from vendors nationwide. After scoring the bids using a rubric, we selected Solutionz with a bid of $293,137, which includes shipping. Solutionz was the only vendor to include all item groups in their bid and has met all the requirements outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

8.C. Award of Contract: E-Rate Category 2 Equipment Project
Description:
Recommendation It is the Administration's recommendation that the School Board approve and authorize the Superintendent to award a contract for the E-Rate Category 2 Equipment project to Daanish Technologies, Inc. for a total award amount of $135,891, contingent upon the availability of Act or E-Rate funding. Pertinent Facts E-rate Category 2 funding is designated for intenet equipment purchases. We solicited bids for internet equipment through a USAC Form 470 Application with the assistance of SERRC. We received a total of four bids from vendors nationwide. Of the four bids, three were deemed responsive. After scoring the bids using a rubric, we selected Daanish Technologies with a bid of $135,891, which includes shipping. Daanish Technologies was also the only bidder to include all requested equipment in their bid.
