8. Sinking Fund
(POSSIBLE ACTION REQUIRED)
Presenter:
Superintendent Hillborg
Description:
The last levy of Freeland's one (1) mill Sinking Fund (passed in 2016) will occur in 2024. The Building & Site Committee is bringing forth a recommendation to put the eight-year sinking fund item on the ballot in March of 2024. Additionally, the Board should determine what, specifically, should go on the ballot. The two options are:
1. A renewal of the current 0.9821 mills. 2. A renewal of the current 0.9821 mills AND an increase of 0.0179 mills to achieve a full 1 (one) mill. The final levy for Freeland's two (2) mill Sinking Fund will be in 2028. |
9. Bond Discussion
(ACTION REQUIRED)
Presenter:
Superintendent Hillborg
Description:
Since the last workshop back in April, more information, i.e. square footage, costs, etc.) has been gathered regarding two specific scenarios for a future bond. That information will be shared, but overall, the Board should discuss the vision for the future of FCSD, ultimately arriving at a decision about which bond pathway to pursue.
In addition to determining which bond path to pursue, the Board should determine if May of 2024 is the target date to put a bond on the ballot. |
