Discussion/Action: Consider adopting a resolution to suspend for the 2011-12 school year only the portions of EIE (Local) that require students in grades 5 and 8 to meet the passing standards on the applicable state-mandated assessment instruments for those grade levels to be promoted to the next grade level.

VII. Discussion/Action: Consider approving the Elkhart I.S.D. Board of Trustees Goals for the 2011-12 school year.

VIII. Discussion/Action: Consider appointing Elkhart I.S.D.'s representative and alternate to the 2011 TASB Delegate Assembly.

Description:
The Delegate Assembly will meet on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Austin Convention Center. The individual you elect will be the Board's voting delegate to the assembly. The alternate would vote in the event the elected delegate could not attend the meeting. Recommendation: Appoint a board member to serve as Elkhart's delegate and alternate delegate to the 2011 TASB Delegate Assembly. At this time Stevi Weston is the only member signed up to attend.

IX. Discussion/Action: Consider adopting new Coaching Stipend Schedule for 2011-12 school year.

Coach Adair is rearranging some of the coaching stipends to make things a little more equal. Recommendation: Approve updated Coaching Stipend Schedule for the 2011-12 school year. |

These are some Title 1 Stimulus Funds reallocated by TEA and need to be added to our budget.

XI. Discussion/Action: Consider setting dates and times for the 2011-12 Budget Workshops.

Description:
The board was presented with a recommended schedule of dates for your consideration that would allow the board to plan for the meetings. Recommendation: Adopt the dates as presented (August 4 and the the 8th if needed) or suggest alternative dates. The meetings will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Middle School Library.

XII. Discussion/Action: Consider setting a date and time for a public hearing on the Proposed 2011-12 Elkhart I.S.D. Budget and Proposed Tax Rate.

Recommendation: Adopt the dates as presented: August 22 at 6:45 p.m. to conduct Public Hearing on 2011-12 Budget and Proposed Tax Rate; August 22 at 7:00 p.m. to adopt 2011-12 Budget and 2011-12 Tax Rate.
