III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

V.A. October 6 is recognized as Instrucitonal Coaches Day
Description:
We thank our amazing Instructional Coaches for their ongoing contributions to the professional learning and student support in District 23: Lisa James, Kristene Ganek, Dina Trekas, and Hannah Sutter. We also recognize our Special Education and Multilingual Specialists: Abby Cisneros, Carly Sullivan, Megan Rieger, Nina Espinos, and Denisse Valladares.

V.B. National Principals Month
Description:
The month of October is recognized as National Principals month.
We thank our principals: Dr. Lambatos, Ms. Gage, Ms. Meziere, Dr. Nystrom, and Mr. Kaper for their outstanding leadership! |

V.C. National School Bus Safety Week
Description:
Oct. 19-23, 2026 is recognized as National School Bus Safety Week. In District 23, we take this opportunity to thank our partners, First Student, and all of the drivers who serve our community.

On October 31, the Illinois State Board of Education will release the 2026 School Report cards and summative designations. While the information is currently under embargo, we are very pleased with the data we have seen and look forward to sharing it with the community.

VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT
Description:
Attached is the memo recommending payment of the voucher lists for materials, supplies, and services paid since the last BOE meeting. In addition, the District payments for salaries and insurance benefits during the previous month are included for approval. Those documents are all included for your review.

Description:
At the upcoming Triple I Conference, each District is invited to send one representative to the delegate assembly. Following the selection of our representative tonight, we will meet to review proposed resolutions and bring a recommendation for a directed vote to our November meeting.

Description:
4.1 Maintain and monitor annual budget for cost savings opportunities.
The Budget Calendar for FY2028 has been reviewed by the Finance Committee and is attached for Board approval.

IX.D. IGA with Prospect Heights Park District - KinderStop Program in 2027-28 School Year - ACTION
Description:
Administration has continued the discussions with the Prospect Heights Park District regarding the hosting of the KinderStop Program at Eisenhower School, starting in 2027-28. Following Committee and legal review, the attached document is being brought forward for Board approval.

IX.E. FY27 School Maintenance Projects Grant - ACTION
Description:
4.5 Continued exploration of shared services/procurement to drive savings.
Administration has completed the preliminary application for the FY27 School Maintenance Projects Grant, with the $50,000 matching funds to be allocated towards the low voltage technology work needed at Eisenhower. Pending approval by the Board, the application will be formally submitted to ISBE. |
