III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

V.B. April Monthly Recognitions
Description:
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. We especially thank all who share their time and resources with District 23 to support our students and staff. We are joined by representatives from the District 23 PTO Executive Board.
April is also recognized as School Library Month. We appreciate our Library Media Specialists Ms. Hauschild, Mrs. Strachn, Mrs. Schlomann, and Mrs. McWilliams for their dedication and inspiration that leads our Media Centers into innovative and Future Ready places of learning. We also recognize Autism Awareness Month in April and thank all of our professionals who bring this specialized skill and expertise to serving our students and families. April 1-5 was recognized as National Assistant Principal Appreciation week so we'd like to recognize our outstanding AP Mr. Michael Kaper. Last, but certainly not least we celebrate Teacher Appreciation and Nurse Appreciation Week in early May. We thank all of our professionals for their dedicated service and contributions that make District 23 an amazing place in which students learn and grow. |
V.C. District-Wide Staff Meeting May 20, 2024.
Description:
Our District-Wide Staff Meeting will be held on May 20, 2024, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the MacArthur Gym. We will honor our colleagues and retirees.

V.D. Registration for 2024-25 Open
Description:
As an update, our families have received information and we have opened the process for registration. We encourage all families to register during the month of April. Registered families will receive payment requests for school fees in July.

VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT
Description:
Attached is the memo recommending payment of the voucher lists for materials, supplies, and services paid since the last BOE meeting. In addition, the District payments for salaries and insurance benefits during the previous month are included for approval. Those documents are all included for your review.

Description:
Drs. Curtis and Sroka have facilitated curriculum reviews for Science and Early Childhood and present their recommendations for adoption.

Description:

Description:
Dr. Curtis, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, has prepared a memo and provided a copy of our ISBE Consolidated District Plan to be filed with the Illinois State Board of Education.

IX.F. 2023 Levy Apportionment Resolution - ACTION
Description:
Following the unsuccessful March referendum, an adjustment is required in the levy apportionment directive for Cook County in order to ensure the correct allocation of property tax revenue from the 2023 tax levy.

IX.G. 2024 Seal Coating, Striping & Concrete Bid - ACTION
Description:
Bids for Striping at Eisenhower and Seal Coating, Striping and Concrete Replacements at the main campus were opened on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The recommendation is being made to award the bid to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Patriot Pavement Maintenance, Inc.

IX.H. Review of 2024-25 NSSEO Budget - INFORMATION
Description:
The preliminary review of the NSSEO Budget took place at the April Finance Committee meeting. The current budget shows a reduction in the number of students being served along with a correlating reduction in tuition costs. The final budget will be approved at the May Board meeting.

IX.I. EBC Insurance Renewal for 2024-25 - INFORMATION
Description:
The EBC Board of Directors held their renewal meeting on March 20, 2024. Districts were given the opportunity to attend to discuss the final renewal projections and rates for the upcoming plan year. The rate sheet and overview have been attached for your review.
