VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT
Description:
Attached is the memo recommending payment of the voucher lists for materials, supplies, and services paid since the last BOE meeting. In addition, the District payments for salaries and insurance benefits during the previous month are included for approval. Those documents are all included for your review.

IX. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

IX.A. Approval for Display of FY24 Tentative Budget, Posting in Newspaper and Scheduling of Public Hearing - ACTION
Description:
Mrs. McPartlin has prepared a brief financial overview and review of the tentative budget. The Board has been provided with the summary and supporting details. The budget will continue to undergo minor adjustments as we finalize hiring, make grant allocations, salary adjustments for new hires, etc. The hearing for the final budget will be held in September.

IX.B. Facilities and Funding Update - PRESENTATION
Description:
Dr. Angelaccio and Mrs. McPartlin will present an update to planning for ongoing safety and facilities maintenance utilizing current available funding as well as the options for seeking additional funding through a referendum question to expedite current projects at Ross, Sullivan, and MacArthur and support an addition and renovation at Eisenhower to provide full-day kindergarten.

IX.C. Curriculum and Instruction Overview - INFORMATION
Description:
Dr. Craig Curtis, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, has prepared a memo to update the Board on Instructional Materials and Professional Development.

Description:
Dr. Angelaccio has provided a memo to update the Board on the status of enrollment for the upcoming school year.

IX.E. Emergency Response Procedures - INFORMATION
Description:
Working in collaboration with Serve and Protect Inc., the Safety Committee, and First Responders, D23 has updated and revised our Emergency Response Procedures. These new procedures will be presented during Institute Day and distributed to all staff prior to the start of the year. Ongoing training will also be provided by Serve and Protect Inc. throughout the year.

IX.F. Strategic Plan Goals 2023-24 - INFORMATION
Description:
The complete Strategic Plan was presented in May and is posted on our website. After the Administrative Advance this month, Dr. Angelaccio is sharing the specific strategies and actions that are the focus for the 2023-24 school year.

X. OLD BUSINESS

X.A. Semi-Annual Review of Executive Session Minutes
Description:
According to Board Policy 2:220, the Board must conduct a semi-annual review of Executive Session Minutes, and also review audio recordings of closed meetings to determine whether:
(1) there continues to be a need for confidentiality, or (2) the recordings no longer require confidential treatment and are available for public inspection. Additionally, after 18 months have passed since being made, the audio recording of a closed meeting is destroyed provided the Board approved its destruction. The Board’s past practice has been to appoint the Secretary to review these minutes in a meeting with the Superintendent and make a recommendation at the following Board meeting. Secretary of the Board of Education, Mrs. McClaney, reviewed the minutes and recommends release of the Executive Session minutes from: January 7, & 11, February 8, & 26, March 2, & 8, April 12, and May 10, 2023, and the destruction of the recordings that are 18 months or older. |
