BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are: The Girls Cross Country Team earned the title of Section AA Champions and placed 2nd at the State Meet. Individually, Citori Halbe placed 9th at State. The Boys Cross Country Team took home the title of Section AA Champions and placed 9th at the State Meet. Girls Soccer also claimed the title of Section Champions for 2022. The Robotics Team, Team 3313 Mechatronics, hosted 24 teams for the Northern MN Robotics Conference and became the Conference Champions. They also received the Chairman’s Award - honoring the team that best embodies the mission of FIRST and represents a model for other teams to emulate. |

Viking Sportsmen Inc. is applying to be the Independent Provider for the Alexandria Area High School and middle school National Archery in the School Program during the 2022-2023 school year. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board approve Viking Sportsmen Inc. as the Independent Provider for the National Archery in the School Program for the 2022-2023 school year. |

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is accepting applications for assistance with Safe Routes to School Planning. This assistance will utilize federal and state funds to award to communities to help with planning. Part of the application process requires letters of support for our Safe Routes to School plans. The following page is a copy of our letter of support in this initiative. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the school board approve the attached letter of support of our district’s application for Safe Routes to School Planning Assistance. |

Darcy Josephson will provide an overview of the 2021-2022 World’s Best Workforce Report Summary. Under Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.11, school districts are to develop a World’s Best Workforce Annual Report and report summary for each school year. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board accept the 2021-2022 World’s Best Workforce Report Summary as presented. |

VI.B. APPROVE FIRST READING OF 2023-2024 CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS

VI.D. AWARD OR REJECT BIDS FOR HVAC UPGRADES AT DISCOVERY MIDDLE SCHOOL

Trevor Peterson will provide information about the bids received on November 3, 2022 for the HVAC System Upgrades at Discovery Middle School. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends approving the base bid from Masters Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, along with alternates 2 & 3B in the amount of $2,915,000. |

VI.F. ADOPT RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMBINED POLLING PLACES

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
New legislation adopted in 2017 requires school districts to establish combined polling places annually by December 31. Amendments to Minnesota Statutes Section 205A.11 require school boards to annually designate, by resolution, combined polling places for stand-alone school district elections held in the following calendar year. The locations of these combined polling places have also been limited to those locations designated for use as a polling place by a county or a municipality. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt the resolution combining polling places for multiple precincts and designating hours during which the polling places will remain open for voting for school district elections not held on the day of the statewide election. |
