8.5. Adopt Resolution Establishing Dates for Filing Affidavits of Candidacy
Description:
Three (3) seats will be up for election on November 3, 2026:
Seats held by Jill Christenson, Curt Rebelein, Jr., vacant seat. These seats are for terms of four years each. The state legislature establishes dates for filing affidavits of candidacy for School Board elections. This year, the filing dates are July 14–July 28, 2026. The following resolution gives district administration direction on the legal requirements to begin preparations for the School Board Election.

8.6. Forest Lake Area Schools Language Access Plan
Description:
During the 2023 Minnesota legislative session, new requirements were put into place, ensuring a school district’s role in providing translation services to families. Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, Minnesota school districts and charter schools are required by Minnesota Statute 123B.32 to adopt and maintain a formal Language Access Plan. This plan must ensure meaningful access for families with limited English proficiency (LEP), providing free, timely interpretation and translation of vital documents, and it must be included in the district’s parent handbook.

8.7. Student Attendance Policy 519
Description:
The purpose of this policy is to encourage regular school attendance of all school-aged children in the district. The School Board Policy Committee has reviewed this policy and is presenting it to the School Board with the noted changes.
