Description:  The attached policies are being presented for a first reading by the school board. They have been reviewed by the policy committee.

Policy 504, Student Dress and Appearance, shows changes with underlined words for new text and strikethroughs for text that should be deleted. The following policies are being presented for review only: 

• 410 - Family and Medical Leave Policy
• 415 - Mandated Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults
• 522 - Title IX Sex Nondiscrimination Policy, Grievance Procedure and Process
• 806 - Crisis Management Policy

Description:  If desired, items may be removed from the consent agenda by request by an individual school board member for independent consideration.  A request is timely if made prior to the vote on the consent agenda.  The request does not require a second or a vote by the school board.  An item removed from the consent agenda will then be discussed and acted on separately immediately following the consideration of the consent agenda.

Roll call vote is required as the consent agenda contains the personnel report.

Description: 

Minnesota school districts applying for long-term facilities maintenance revenue must annually complete the application for Long-Term Facilities Maintenance Revenue and submit it to the Minnesota Department of Education.  To qualify for Long-term Maintenance Revenue, school districts must have a 10-year plan adopted by the school board and approved by the commissioner.  The Long-Term Maintenance Revenue Application - Ten-Year Expenditure is attached.

Description:  The District has used Further as the health reimbursement company. Further has become part of Health Equity and will no longer service VEBA accounts. The attached resolution is to designate MedSurety LLC and Matrix Trust as the new health reimbursement arrangement trustee.

Description:  The Secretary of State’s office sets very specific timelines for notifying the county auditor’s office, posting notices of elections, and publishing notices.  The School Board must pass a resolution calling for an election so that the election clerk is able to meet these deadlines. Attached is the resolution.

Terms for these board members will be expiring after December:  Nikki Gieseke, Jolayne Mohs, Mark Sebring, Lori Weisenburger.

The filing dates are August 2-16, 2022.

The policies are attached here again for a second reading and consideration for approval. Underlined text is new text, and strikethrough text represents text that is to be deleted. The attached policies have largely minor / not substantive changes.

Description: 

School District and the Local 147, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, Custodial Employee representatives reached a tentative agreement on a collective bargaining agreement for the 2021-2023 school years on June 22, 2022.  Local 147, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, Custodial Employees ratified the tentative agreement on July 6, 2022.  The Board has received in its previous correspondence a summary sheet of the proposed salary/benefits and language changes.
